¶ … Human Evolution Heading?
The evolution of the human being has been the subject of constant research since technology has enabled scientists to have a more technical and elaborated approach on this theme. The results of such research are remarkable and at the same time contradictory.
Apparently, according to research conducted, although people have evolved in terms of eating habits, resources available, and living conditions, these evolutions enable them to sometimes use the results to change the human in itself, for instance through the choice of DNA and the desire for perfect traits to improve the next generations (Shute, 2008). At the same time though, the discovery and research of DNA has enabled human kind to avoid the reproduction of mutations and to overall provide a better quality of gens for people. Given the rapid growth of the population by comparison to 10,000 years ago, these changes are significant because they reduce the changes that non-resistant, frail generations are born. Even so, there are those that argue that the mixing of gens and the technological capacity of parents to...
Evolution and Development of Dog Species: According to the findings of previous research, it has been suggested that dogs are paedomorphic wolves that have evolved through heterochrony. Heterochrony is described as an evolutionary technique that produced diversity through perturbations of the timing and rate of development, which needs very minimal genetic innovation. Consequently, this evolutionary technique is considered to be the most common mechanism in the generation or production diversity (Drake,
Nonetheless, this does not make philosophy any less important in the field. Philosophy today can be seen as a manifestation of the workings of the human mind, while psychology studies the mind itself. Philosophy is therefore a very important aspect in helping the psychologist understand the human mind. Philosophy is indeed responsible for the birth of psychology as a discipline in itself, as mentioned. While the early philosophers, Socrates, Plato and
In Miller's Batman, one sees a man waging war on a world that has sold its soul for empty slogans and nationalism: the Dark Knight represents a kind of spirit reminiscent of what the old world used to call the Church Militant -- he is virtue violently opposed to all forms of vice -- even those that bear the letter S. On their chests and come in fine wrapping. Miller's
Ecological-Evolutionary Theory (EET) Evolution and Revolution: Comparative History of Social Change In understanding the evolution of human societies in the course of history, it is best traced and determined through the different states of economic development that humanity has experienced. Humanity's evolution from being a hunting and gathering to an industrial society can be pointed to numerous variables that served as catalysts that eventually made the conditions suitable for the nature of
Rinpoche In The Tibetan Book of Living and Dying, Sogyal Rinpoche (2002) distills the essence of Tibetan Buddhist teachings into a format digestible for a modern Western audience. The central premise of The Tibetan Book of Living and Dying is that death can be a "teaching for us all," (Rinpoche, 2002, p. 3). The title of Rinpoche's book refers to the Tibetan Book of the Dead, which describes the bardo, of
